Cheryl graduated from the State University of West Georgia College with a Masters Degree in School Counseling and Specialist in School Counseling and Community Counseling. She has worked with children, adolescents, adults and the elderly and has experience with a variety of disorders, including anxiety, depression, chronic illness, loss and grief, substance abuse, spirituality, trauma, and gay and lesbian issues.

Cheryl uses both a behavioral/cognitive approach and modeling/behaviorist approach in therapy. The former is a process which identifies maladaptive behaviors which clients learn to change by developing a more realistic view of themselves and their long-term goals. Modeling and behaviorist methods teach clients to become accountable for their own behaviors with the ultimate goal of developing their own sense of self-worth and moving forward in their life.

Cheryl is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Licensed Professional Counselors Association.
