Troy Nielsen received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Minor in Social Work from Utah State University, and a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida and is a member of the American Counseling Association. Troy began his career working for the Department of Children and Family Services in Salt Lake City, Utah as a therapist working with delinquent adolescents and their families. He has since relocated to Florida where he is Assistant Administrator for a correctional program contracted with the Department of Juvenile Justice. There he works with incarcerated youth helping them understand the underlying causes of the behaviors which caused them to become incarcerated.

Troy specializes in working with adolescent youth and their families and over the last 12 years has acquired skills and training in treating: anger management, antisocial behavior, anxiety, depression, divorce, education, family conflicts, grief and loss, impulse control, legal conflicts, low self-esteem and substance abuse issues.
